RE: Raptor LED upgrade (Pics)

What happened to the red reflector that was installed in the factory tail light? Have you checked into FMVSS 108? There is a requirement that any replacement light must have all the same features as the one it replaced.

RE: Possible Camping World scew up - What would you do?

Heck, you only use it every so often. And when you do, you do not use those lights. Everything else works, or so you think, why do anything?

RE: Crashes aren't Accidents

If I walk out of safeway and get hit by a pickup, it's a crash. If I walk out of Safeway and get hit by a meteorite, it's and accident. Period. For the record, if I was you, I would stay away from Safeway.

RE: Crashes aren't Accidents

While I agree with you, you know we are fighting an uphill battle. Radio, TV, and even insurance commercials still call them 'accidents', as as we both know, if you call it an accident then very few people want to take responsibility for their actions that CAUSED the collision. Okay Mods, figure how to edit this one to fall in line with your point of view. Okay Mods, figure how to edit this one to fall in line with your point of view. Snide remarks certainally don't enhance your credibility here. Posts are not edited according to my point-of-view, but rather to conform to forum rules. After reviewing your post delete file it would appear you also have problems in other forum sections.

RE: How I removed my Air Conditioner (with photos)

Hey Spott, nice work. Can I ask you what you got for the AC? You can PM me if you'd like...but I am thiknking about doing the same thing, and like you, for a variety of reasons, but mostly height. It would be nice to be below 13' tall! Maybe there is a disadvantage to a 550? :B I just took a cheap shot at humor, and did not mean to offend. If I did offend, I apologize, and will delete this post as a troll. Wayne Don't worry, mods get to do whatever they want around here.

RE: What are your Nicknames for your pet?

The cats: Speedy AKA "Foot Monster" Just try to make it down the stairs without being attacked. Miranda AKA "Madga Moodgie" I have no idea why. The wifes dogs: Dakota Coal Does not matter which one comes first, but the first one around the corner is "Dumb" If you yell that out the back door and both will come running. Holy G rating Batman! I had already "edited" it for the crowd. What prude decided to pull this stunt???? ==Does not matter which one comes first, but the first one around the corner is "Dumb" ****deletedand the second is "$hi....". RE: Most unusual way to tow your toad

From experience. Ever seen someone tow an old VW bug with the front of the vehicle on a tow dolly? The rear end is all over the road. At first, I'm thinking a tow dolly is different, but not totally, because the pivot point is still the same. Yes there is an extra pivot, but what the toad sees is still the same pivot point. Some vehicles are probably much better than others depending on weight distribution. Hmmm, guess I did not know what I was doing for those 10 years I drove a tow truck. Many vehicles were towed 'backwards' down the road. As far as when I used the sling, I would not have that upward angle that another poster already noticed.

RE: How long did the dealer take with your orientation

For this fiver, about an hour. The tech was new and in training so I let him do his speech and walk me through it. My previous fiver was about 5 minutes. Long enough for them to tell me where they had parked it.

RE: Is this a deal or am I missing something?

if only they were Fords. If they were fords, it would be understandable why they have low miles. Not much distance from the lot to the shop to get fixed. (Grabbing popcorn!)

RE: Stealth Camping... A topic I remember here from days of old.

Center Punch, That is what AAA is for. And yes, the world has changed, partly because of people like you that think that just because the gym door is open, it's okay to go in and play basketball. Now they lock the gym door, to keep you and your B-I-L out. Also, if he was plugged into your home, I am sure you would not have thought a thing about it, he is a part of your family.

Heck, I have been staying in my new fiver since December. Then again, the house did flood and is being rebuilt, but it's a fun 'vacation' in the driveway!

RE: Tow Vehicle Modifications - back up lights

You must have a different trailer than I do, everytime my back up lights come on, they light up the front of my trailer and do their best to blind me. Have you ever thought of getting a portable light and plug it into the campground electrical post at your site? I would light it up just fine and not blind you.

RE: State speed limits - where to find?

I don't worry too much about State-to-State differences in speed limits, and have never had a speeding ticket. If CT is 55, I'll drive at most 63 or 64. WV is 70, and I'll still drive 63 or 64. Most TT tires are only rated for 65 anyway. And as a former LEO, I can tell you that 9 over the limit is virtually never going to get you pulled over. Unless it's for obstructing traffic. You must not have worked traffic a lot as a former LEO. Kinda takes away from the other calls. However, as a Trooper, with nothing else to do than deal with traffic laws, any speed above the speed LIMIT will get you stopped.

RE: Strange Event

And there is also the police tactic of showing everyone that they are driving to fast on average. In Oregon they do this same thing once in a while to remind folks to slow down on dangerous areas of the freeway. Something we see around Portland every couple of years... ______ Ummmmm, please tell me more about police tactics. Sounds like you have it all figured out. :R However, about 5 years ago I was doing a rolling roadblock so another trooper could remove tire debris from the roadway. Some motorist, upset with us, called my Captain to complain that we were out just playing on the freeway. When it was explained to HER what we were doing, she replied that it was B.S because when she drove through there was no tire debris in the road.
